This module consists of seven sessions that were developed around the research behind vocabulary instruction. During this module you will explore the following sessions related to this topic:
- Research on vocabulary instruction and vocabulary program
- Selecting vocabulary to teach
- Explicit instruction of vocabulary
- Vocabulary strategies
- Vocabulary activities
- Assessment of vocabulary
- Plan for implementation
Each session will contain an online presentation that provides for opportunities to stop and reflect, as well as discuss with colleagues. The sessions have been developed to consume about 30-45 minutes.
The module contains numerous resources throughout each session to explore and use in the future.
A Learning to Application Log allows each participant to record reflections and thinking from each session that will accumulate over time and then be utilized to construct an action plan during the last session.
