Welcome to Language & Literacy U. The place where professional learning is always a click away. We have a variety of professional learning opportunities that are on-demand and many of them offer college credit for completion. You can choose from short courses that can be completed quickly or longer more in-depth courses that can be completed over a week, a month, six months, or even an entire school year. The most important thing is that YOU decide when the time is right to learn.

Short Courses

Have you ever been working on lesson plans for the next week, next day, or even the next hour and thought, "I just need a new idea for how to teach _______?"

If you have, then our short courses are just for you. These courses are focused on one instructional literacy strategy. We will provide you with the WHAT, HOW, WHY, and WHEN to use the strategy. You will be able to turn around and use it in your classroom that day.

Course Modules

When you have BIG goals and want to really take the time to take a deep dive into a topic, our course modules might be for you!

Course modules are available on various language and literacy topics that will take multiple sessions to complete. They are built so that you can choose when it works for you and/or your colleagues. Maybe you are part of a school team that is interested in learning about the same topic. You want to use Professional Learning Communities or school-sponsored professional learning time to learn, reflect, and implement new strategies and thinking.

Purchasing Access to a Course

There are a couple of different options for purchasing a course.

  • Individuals may purchase the course using a credit card as payment.
  • Schools and districts interested in purchasing site licenses for their teachers may contact Language & Literacy U for a price quote that will be based on the number of users.
